Alejandro Santoyo and Al Norte al Norte: Latino Life in North Carolina

Alejandro Santoyo will debut a new, original composition inspired by photographs taken be José Galvez at this special Music of the Carolinas concert! Santoyo will also perform traditional folk songs from various countries in Latin America.

The Museum is preparing for a photography exhibit focusing on Latino life in North Carolina. Al Norte al Norte: Latino Life in North Carolina will be on display at the Museum from May 4, 2012–April 28, 2013, and admission to the exhibit will be FREE and open to the public. As part of the exhibit development, the exhibit team is working with some NC Latino musicians to include their music in a compilation CD of ambient music in the gallery. Santoyo's performance will be recorded so that some Latin American folk songs can be part of the exhibit as well.
